Bath Ghost Walk

About this event

A unique and immersive Extours experience after dark We're proud to introduce Bath: Empire, Elegance & the Unexplained — a completely reimagined way to experience the city at night. Bath is celebrated for its grandeur, symmetry and refinement. But beneath the Georgian façades lies a far older story — one shaped by ancient and Roman history, sacred waters and centuries of shifting power. This experience explores those layers. Beginning with the Roman foundations of Aquae Sulis — a sacred spa town at the edge of empire — we uncover the rituals, offerings and beliefs that once defined the city. From there, we trace Bath's rise into a centre of Georgian ambition and social prestige, where elegance often masked control, scandal and quiet unrest. Woven throughout are the locations long associated with unexplained encounters — buildings said to carry memory, presence and echoes of lives once lived. Founded in 2022, Extours has grown rapidly across the South West by creating immersive walking experiences rooted in research, atmosphere and accuracy. Rather than theatrical performance, we focus on depth, authenticity and meaningful engagement — an approach that continues to earn outstanding feedback across the region. During the walk, guests are guided through Bath after dark, stopping at significant historic sites to explore its imperial beginnings, refined façades and more mysterious reputation. At selected points, there is the opportunity to use authentic paranormal investigation equipment to explore reported activity. Participation is entirely optional.
