About this event
Beneath the harbour lights lies a coastline shaped by shipwrecks, smuggling networks, press gangs and murder investigations. This immersive evening experience explores over 400 years of documented maritime crime, tragedy and folklore within one mile of the town's historic centre. Hear the true story of the 1886 family murder that shocked Victorian Cornwall. Discover the skeleton unearthed beneath a harbour-side inn in 1813, reported in contemporary newspapers. Stand on the shoreline where six lifeboat volunteers drowned in 1850. Walk the streets once raided and burned during the Spanish attack of 1595. Alongside recorded history, we explore the ghostly legends preserved in 19th-century folklore collections — restless sea captains, spinning apparitions, and figures seen among the tombstones after dark. This is not a theatrical ghost tour. It is a research-driven exploration of a working coastline where lives were lost, fortunes made, and secrets buried. The sea keeps its stories. Join us and decide what still lingers in Mount's Bay.Duration: approx. 90 minutes Distance: approx. 1 milesLater walk: 16+ Earlier walk: Family friendly Please note: picture for illustration purposes, this walk is not afilliated with the National Trust or St Michaels Mount
