Chippenham Ghost Walk

About this event

Explore Chippenham after dark on a guided ghost walk uncovering the town's hidden stories, folklore and reports of the unexplained. With its historic market routes, riverside paths, and centuries-old buildings, Chippenham provides an atmospheric backdrop for an evening of discovery. Led by an Extours host, you'll journey through locations connected to unusual sightings, forgotten events and local legends passed down through generations. Guests may also choose to join the optional paranormal investigation using EMF meters, dowsing rods and other recognised tools — or simply enjoy the stories and atmosphere as the walk unfolds. We avoid gimmicks and jump scares; our aim is to intrigue rather than terrify by exploring the mysteries woven into Chippenham's past. Age Guidance – Early walks are family-friendly and open to under-16s (recommended age 8+). – Later evening walks are 16+ to offer an adults-only experience. – Well-behaved dogs are welcome on all walks. Weather Walks run in most conditions. If severe weather makes the event unsafe, we will postpone and offer an alternative date. Atmospheric, engaging and rooted in local heritage, the Chippenham Ghost Walk offers a memorable way to discover the town's lesser-known stories and explore its darker corners after nightfall.
