Discover Shaftesbury after dark on a guided ghost walk exploring the town's ancient past, lingering folklore and centuries of curious reports. Perched high on its historic hilltop and shaped by the legacy of its abbey, Shaftesbury provides an evocative backdrop for an evening of storytelling and exploration. Guided by an Extours host, you'll wander through atmospheric streets and viewpoints linked with unusual sightings, forgotten tales and stories passed down through generations. Each account is carefully researched, revealing the deeper, often overlooked side of Shaftesbury's history. Guests may also choose to take part in optional paranormal investigation using EMF meters, dowsing rods and other recognised tools — or simply enjoy the atmosphere as the walk unfolds. We avoid gimmicks and jump scares; our aim is to intrigue, not terrify, by exploring the genuine mysteries woven into Shaftesbury's heritage. Age Guidance – Early walks are family-friendly and open to under-16s (recommended age 8+). – Later evening walks are 16+ to offer an adults-only experience. – Well-behaved dogs are welcome on all walks. Weather Walks continue in most conditions. If severe weather makes the event unsafe, we will postpone and offer an alternative date.
