Set beneath the edge of the Cotswolds, Wotton is an ancient market town with a history stretching back more than a thousand years. Its old streets, historic buildings and generations of former inhabitants have left behind a remarkable collection of stories. As you explore the town after dark, your host will uncover some of Wotton's darker and more unusual history — from the people and events that shaped the town to local legends, reported hauntings and accounts of unexplained experiences. And with so much attention often focused on the Ancient Ram Inn, there is an intriguing question at the heart of this walk: what other stories might be hiding elsewhere in Wotton-under-Edge? This is where history and the paranormal come together. There are no actors, costumes or staged scares. Instead, Extours combines carefully researched storytelling with an opportunity to explore some of the paranormal claims associated with the places you visit. At selected locations during the walk, guests can take part in optional paranormal experiments using recognised ghost-hunting equipment. Participation is entirely optional, and you are equally welcome to observe as we investigate whether Wotton's historic streets still have a few stories left to tell. Important information Please note that the Wotton-under-Edge Ghost Walk does not enter the Ancient Ram Inn. The venue is privately operated and is not part of the Extours experience. This is an outdoor walking experience and operates in most weather conditions. The route follows public streets and pavements through the historic town, and some areas may include uneven surfaces and inclines. Suitable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are strongly recommended. Advance booking is essential, as places are limited on every walk.
