Lowlands Mansion

Lowlands is a mid-nineteenth-century villa in West Derby, Liverpool, built in the Italianate style in 1846 and later altered in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Set within a Victorian garden, the house and its attached boundary walls and gate piers were first listed at Grade II in March 1975. The building now serves as a community centre, home to the West Derby Community Association, having passed through private and institutional hands during the twentieth century before being put to civic use. Its listed status recognises both the surviving Italianate villa and its associated garden setting.
