Scolton Manor

Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire

No dates are listed at Scolton Manor right now.

Scolton Manor, near Spittal in Pembrokeshire, was built in 1840 for the Higgon family to designs by the Haverfordwest architects William and James Owen, replacing an earlier house lost to fire in the mid-eighteenth century. The neo-classical house is Grade II* listed, and its surrounding parkland and gardens, laid out soon after the house was completed, are separately included on the Cadw Register of Historic Parks and Gardens in Wales at Grade II. Pembrokeshire County Council has owned the estate since 1972, and the house now operates as a museum open to the public, presenting displays on the history of the county and the Higgon family's occupation of the site.
