Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem

Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem Public House stands against Castle Rock in Nottingham and is a Grade II listed building, first listed in 1952. Its fabric principally dates from the late seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, with further extensions made in the nineteenth century. The building incorporates rock-cut caves and cellars carved into the sandstone of Castle Rock, which are thought to have originated as part of a medieval brewhouse. Historic England's listing notes that the pub's traditional claim to a founding date of 1189 is unsubstantiated by documentary evidence. The building continues to operate as a public house today.
