Ashbourne Town Hall

Ashbourne Town Hall, in the Market Place, is a Grade II listed building listed in 1970. The present building was designed by architect Benjamin Wilson and is dated 1861, constructed in ashlar masonry with a slate roof and a symmetrical three-bay frontage. It occupies the site of the former Talbot Inn, a public house dating back to at least the early 17th century, whose basement is understood to have survived beneath the new building when it was erected. The Town Hall sits within Ashbourne's historic Market Place, an area recognised for its concentration of listed buildings and its predominantly Georgian character.
