Event types: Ghost Hunt.
The former HM Prison Gloucester stands on Barrack Square in the centre of the city. Several parts of the prison carry their own designations: Historic England lists the central block, containing A and B wings and the chapel, at Grade II*, and lists the debtors' cell block, the outer gatehouse, the governor's house and the perimeter wall at Grade II, all designated in March 1973. The prison closed on 28 March 2013 under the Closure of Prisons Order 2013.
