Old Nick Theatre

The Old Nick Theatre in Gainsborough occupies a mid-19th-century police station and magistrates' courtroom on Spring Gardens. The building served the Lincolnshire Constabulary before falling out of police use in the later 20th century, and was bequeathed to the Gainsborough Community Theatre group in 1993. It is a Grade II listed building. The former courtroom has since been converted into a theatre space, while other parts of the building, including cells and exercise yards, have been retained and restored to reflect their original Victorian institutional use, giving the site a dual identity as both a heritage building and working arts venue.
