Maple Terrace Masonic Hall in Newcastle upon Tyne had its foundation stone laid on 11 October 1870, funded by a limited liability company formed by St Peter's Lodge and Northern Counties Lodge. The building was dedicated on 23 May 1872 before around two hundred Freemasons. It is recorded by Newcastle City Council's Historic Environment Record as the oldest purpose-built Masonic hall in Northumberland. The temple closed in 1895, and the building was used for a period as a tea room and dance hall before reopening as a Freemasons' hall around the turn of the twentieth century. It remains an active masonic meeting place today.
