Pen y Lan Hall, near Ruabon in Wrexham, is a Grade II listed country house designated in 1995. The building is said to date from around 1690, and was remodelled in Tudor-Gothic Revival style in 1830, giving it its present stuccoed and castellated appearance. In 1854 the property was bought by Thomas Hardcastle, a Bolton cotton manufacturer of the firm Ormrod & Hardcastle. The house was further enlarged and altered in the late 19th century, though much of this later work was subsequently demolished in the 1950s, leaving the earlier remodelled hall as the building seen today.
