Willsbridge Mill sits within Willsbridge Valley on the edge of Bristol. Built in the 1830s from Pennant sandstone quarried locally in the valley, it operated for over a century as a working corn mill. Milling ceased in 1968, when floodwater from Siston Brook, combined with a fallen tree, breached the mill dam and caused irreparable damage to the buildings. The mill then lay derelict for roughly ten years before Avon Wildlife Trust undertook its restoration, reopening the site in 1986 as the region's first environmental education centre. The mill and adjoining long barn now form the trust's visitor and education centre within the wider Willsbridge Valley Local Nature Reserve.
