Ghost Hunts at Leeds Old Workhouse

Historic England added this Leeds site to the National Heritage List in November 2025, listing at Grade II the former Leeds workhouse casual ward together with its work sheds and associated boundary treatments. The casual ward was one of a series of buildings added to the Leeds Union workhouse site on Beckett Street, where the main workhouse block of 1858 by Perkin and Backhouse still stands and now houses the Thackray Museum of Medicine. The wider site grew over the following decades into St James's University Hospital.
