Dower House

The Dower House stands within the Boughton Park estate at Weekley, near Kettering, and is dated 1705 on its rainwater head. It has a limestone ashlar front, brick to the sides and rear, and a hipped Collyweston stone slate roof with two large moulded stone ridge stacks. A low, later block connects the house to the neighbouring Boughton House, a Grade I listed country house of early 16th-century origin substantially remodelled in the late 17th century. The Dower House itself is Grade II* listed, a designation first made in October 1951, reflecting its architectural quality and its place within the wider historic estate.
