Delapré Abbey in Northampton began as a Cluniac nunnery founded around 1145 and dissolved in 1538. The surviving house is largely 16th century in fabric, with a west front added during the 17th century and further alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is a Grade II* listed building, with a group of associated Grade II listed structures including a stable block, orangery, coach house, estate cottage and game larder. Between 1957 and 1992, the building served as the Northamptonshire Records Office. It has since been restored and opened to the public, its grounds retaining formal and semi-formal gardens laid out by later owning families.
