Ghost Hunts at Beaumanor Hall

Beaumanor Hall, near Woodhouse in the Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire, was built between 1842 and 1853 for William Perry Herrick to designs by architect William Railton in the Jacobean style. The mansion is a Grade II* listed building, first listed in 1972. During the Second World War the Hall was requisitioned by the War Office and operated as a wireless intercept station, part of the wider signals intelligence network supporting Bletchley Park. Leicestershire County Council purchased the estate in 1974 and has since run it as an education and conference centre, a role it continues to serve today alongside its surviving parkland setting.
