Bucks Museum occupies a former grammar school building in the historic centre of Aylesbury, built between 1718 and 1720 to house a school and masters' houses. The property, formally known as The Museum, 9 Church Street, is a Grade II* listed building. Following the grammar school's move to new premises, the building has served as a museum since 1907. It stands within a complex of older structures near St Mary's Church that together reflect several centuries of the town's civic and educational history.
